Often times, CD ripping
software, or websites offering MP3s, don't include the correct ID3 Tag
information. With the advent
of car CD players that can play
MP3s, this can be quite annoying.
File to Tag
As the name implies, this command will copy information from the filename to the ID3v1 Tag. For instance, if the filename is 'Abrar - Jat.mp3', this command will put 'Abrar' in the Artist field, and 'Jat' in the Title field. When called from the 'Folder Options' menu, this command updates the information for all the files
in the selected folder.
When downloading from a website, MP3 filenames have a '%20' in the title. For example:
While necessary for the web browser, this can be fairly annoying and can increase the length of your filename. This command removes the '%20' from your filename. When called from the 'Folder Options' menu, this command will remove the '%20' from all the files found in a particular folder.
Tag to File
This command will take information from the ID3v1 Tag and rename the file to correspond accordingly. Currently, it takes the Artist and the song Title, and renames the file using the format 'Artist - Title.mp3'. When called from the 'Folder Options' menu, this command updates the information for all the files in the selected folder.
Update All Tags
This command allows you to update the ID3v1 Tags of all of the files in the chosen folder with a single click. Simply click the desired field(s), fill in the appropriate information, and call the function.
