yacib Portable Mp3 is a useful freeware for those users who would like to reduce the size of mp3 files, (or convert other file types to mp3 (Portable or Advanced Mode), * see supported file types). Store more music , audio books , ringtones , on your mp3 device (mp3 player, mobile phone…), or reduce web traffic, etc..

Supported files: mp1, mp2, mp3, wma, wav (to mp3)

(* VBR = Variable Bit Rate CBR = Constant Bit Rate)

1. Portable Mode
User can choose from 8 “Portable Mode” presets.
a.) VBR(4) = Low, Medium, Good and High
b.) CBR(4) = Low, Medium, Good and High
* The recommended settings are: VBR – Good (resize mp3 or convert(* supported files) with little loss of quality)
2. Advanced Mode.
a.) VBR - 10 compression levels (0 Highest – 9 Lowest) defined by Lame.
b.) CBR - 14 Bit Rates: 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 80, 96, 112, 128, 160, 192, 224, 256, 320(kbps).

The software can write ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags, with ISO-8859-1 and UTF-16 text encoding.
Options:
ID3 Tag version: ID3v1, ID3v2
Version of ID3v2: ID3v2.2, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4
Text ecoding (ID3v2): ISO-8859-1, UTF-16.
The ID3 tag can be edited (Output Only) by DataGrid.
ID3v2 components:
Main: Artist, Title, Album, Comment, Genre, Track, Year Extended: AlbumArtist, BPM, Composer, Copyright, Disc, Encoded, OriginalArtist, Rating, Publisher, URL
Artwork: saved as original or resized by custom size. (Default: Resized / custom size: 300px X 300px).
